While listening to the relaxation recording, I focused on doing what the speaker said. The background sound was relaxing, it made me feel like I was floating around in outer-space. The exercise reminded me of the power of suggestion. When he told us what to think about, and gave guided imagery, I was able to picture what he said, and felt my body relax in the process. I think it hits home the message of unit 2, that our focus, such as what we think about, effects not only our body, but our very being.
Hello Jenifer!
ReplyDeleteThis week in class we were provided with some awesome material and very interesting information. I really enjoyed the exercise, or at least what I was able to complete of it - My boyfriend thought I was falling asleep and closed my laptop because he knows I have a lot of school work to do, lol. I want to retry the exercise again though, I found it to truly be a relaxing experience and the speaker really made it possible to carry out the exercise effectively because of the softness and soothing nature of his voice. I have found in prior experiences that when I am feeling pain, using methods similar to the power of suggestion I am able to sort of deal with it by telling myself it doesn't hurt that much, and it is surprisingly effective.
Wow! That song was so beautify I can see why that song touch you so and I can see all types of peaceful images of me being at grand-moms house or play with my nieces and nephews just was a great song. Looking forward to what you post again.
ReplyDeleteThank you :), I was trying to make it my profile clip but posted it here instead. I think that was better that way everyone can enjoy it. I love it too, it is soothing and always reminds me of the magic of imagination that I had as a child, and still have on occasion now. Sometimes I feel inspired to write a book (I have tried by I get writers block and the enthusiasm dies, lol). I also think of my daughters and their creativity and imagination. So beautiful, that is what life is all about! :)
